Goa beyond beaches

India is the land of Bollywood. We tend to believe the contents, what we see in Bollywood movies. Goa; when we think of the word, the figure of beaches and parties covers up all our mind.
My friend, Goa is not just limited to beaches. There are way more places, you need to dig out. Or, I will say, Goa is lots more than just beaches. This western ghat state offers abundance of natural beauty; you need to know about.
Let’s hunt together the mindboggling beauties of Goa.

Trekking through Dudhsagar falls

So our first hunt ends at Sanguem Taluka of Goa where we find a magastic cascade of white water running down to the height of 1,017ft. It’s Dudhasagar falls, which literally translate to ‘Sea of milk’.
This place falls under Goa Forest Jurisdiction. To reach there, one must either go on foot or by rail.
Who wants to miss such a beauty; travelling by rail. If you are adventure lover, I suggest you better pack your bag packs and tighten your shoe-lases to admire the beauty of the 300mt long cascade. Trekking is not an easy job here but its brimming beauty makes it worth the effort.

Wander through the lanes of colourful Villas in Fontainhas

Apart from natural beauties, Goa also houses plenty of colonial vibes. We make the next stoppage at an old Latin quarter at the capital city of Goa, Fontainhas. It’s a mini Portugal city of India. Fontainhas has maintained its Portuguese heritage since decades.
This colourful charming town is  a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Two of the most beautiful attraction of city are the Chapels of St. Sebastian and Maruti temple that rests on Altinho hills and offers mindboggling view of the city.
I will strongly recommend you to stay here at least a day at any of these Portuguese Villas turned boutique hotels to experience authentic Goan hospitality.
